A US precision airstrike targeted and destroyed an IRGC electronic warfare and GPS jamming facility on Mount Derak on the outskirts of Shiraz at 06:06 UTC. Around 20 explosions were heard during a roughly 20-minute bombardment, according to eyewitness reports received by Iran International. A resident who sent footage to Iran International said satellite interference disappeared immediately after the strike, consistent with the destruction of an active jamming installation. The facility reportedly housed signal jamming arrays used to disrupt GPS navigation and targeting systems of incoming US-Israeli aircraft and cruise missiles across southern Iran and the Strait of Hormuz approach. IRNA confirmed five IRGC electronic warfare personnel were killed and twelve wounded. The strike is part of the broader US-Israeli effort to suppress Iranian electronic countermeasures enabling more accurate coalition strikes across the southern theater.
