US airstrikes hit the IRGC's missile storage and logistics complex on the outskirts of Ahvaz in Khuzestan province. The strike killed at least 34 IRGC personnel and injured 71 others. Secondary explosions from detonating missile fuel ignited a large fire at the adjacent Abadan oil refinery pipeline infrastructure, sending a massive black smoke plume visible for 40 kilometers. Iranian fire brigades worked for hours to control the blaze. The Ahvaz complex was believed to hold Fateh-110 and Zolfaghar ballistic missiles. Local civilians were ordered to shelter in place due to toxic fumes from the burning fuel. Khuzestan Governor called it "a deliberate attack on Iran's civilian oil infrastructure."
