A large explosion rocked Ferdowsi Square in central Tehran during the annual al-Quds Day march attended by thousands, killing at least one woman and wounding several others. The blast occurred shortly after Israel issued a warning for people to leave the area, prompting speculation it was an Israeli airstrike. Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian and security chief Ali Larijani were present at the rally. Larijani told Iranian media the suspected attack was "a sign of Israel's desperation." The march had drawn massive crowds in a show of defiance despite two weeks of US-Israeli bombardment. The cause of the explosion was not conclusively determined, though Israeli forces had explicitly warned civilians to evacuate the rally site beforehand.
