Two of Iran's top nuclear weapons scientists were killed in targeted Israeli strikes, according to the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and multiple intelligence sources. Prime Minister Netanyahu announced the kills, claiming the strikes set back Iran's nuclear program by years. The AP initially reported multiple scientists killed; a correction clarified two top scientists died and several others were wounded. Over the course of the 14-day war, Israeli officials said Israel had killed 30 Iranian security chiefs and 11 nuclear scientists in total. The strikes targeted residences and facilities linked to the scientists in the Tehran area.
