Kuwaiti air defense systems were actively engaged in intercepting hostile missiles and drones that breached the country's airspace early Wednesday morning, the official Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported. The interceptions were part of the continued Iranian campaign targeting Gulf states hosting US military assets. Kuwait's Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has stated his country considers Iran "a friend" and did not allow the use of Kuwaiti land, airspace, or waters for military action against Iran. Kuwait has intercepted a cumulative total of 97 ballistic missiles and 283 drones since the war began on February 28.
