Palestinian Islamic Jihad announced that its Lebanon commander, Adham Adnan al-Othman, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on Beirut's southern suburbs shortly after midnight. PIJ said al-Othman led the group's military wing in Lebanon and was responsible for coordinating rocket and anti-tank missile fire into northern Israel. One bodyguard was also killed and seven others wounded in the strike. PIJ vowed to continue its operations against Israel, saying al-Othman's death "will not stop the resistance." The IDF described al-Othman as a senior operational commander involved in planning cross-border attacks.
