Iranian cluster munition barrage impacts central Israel near Rishon LeZion in retaliation for Larijani killing

Iran launched a ballistic missile salvo carrying cluster munitions that impacted throughout central Israel, with at least six impact sites reported including Rishon LeZion. The attack came as apparent retaliation for Israel's overnight assassination of Ali Larijani and Gholamreza Soleimani. Cluster bomb fragments caused property damage in Rishon LeZion and other areas but no injuries were reported. Israel's air defense systems intercepted the majority of incoming projectiles but several warheads deployed submunitions that evaded the Iron Dome system.
