The Israeli Air Force struck and destroyed a compound in central Tehran used by the Iranian regime to develop military space programs, including the Chamran-1 satellite launched in September 2024 by the IRGC. The IDF said the facility was used to develop "capabilities for attacking satellites, posing a threat to Israeli satellites and space assets of other countries." A separate strike also destroyed an air defense factory in Tehran. An IDF Intelligence Directorate (Unit 9900) official said the strikes were aimed at maintaining Israeli space supremacy. The attack adds to last week's strike on another space-related research compound belonging to the Iranian Space Organization.
