Iran fires missile salvo at central Israel; sirens in Tel Aviv as interceptors engage

Iran launched another missile salvo at central Israel on the morning of Day 17, with air-raid sirens sounding across the Tel Aviv metropolitan area including Rishon LeZion and Holon. The Iron Dome and David's Sling defense systems intercepted the majority of incoming projectiles. No casualties were reported in initial assessments. The IRGC said it fired the salvo in retaliation for the IDF's overnight and early morning strikes on Tehran and western Iran. Iran has now fired over 700 missiles and 3,600 drones at US and Israeli targets since the start of the war.
