Video footage shared by Iran International showed extensive damage to the Jask naval base and commercial port in Hormozgan Province following a pre-dawn US-Israeli airstrike on March 15. The Jask facility houses the Artesh Navy 2nd Naval District, which relocated from Bushehr to Jask in 2008, and sits adjacent to Iran's Goreh-Jask oil pipeline terminal — opened in 2021 to allow crude exports bypassing the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian IRNA confirmed the strike and reported seven killed and twenty-three injured among naval personnel and port workers. The destruction of infrastructure at the Jask oil terminal further constrains Iran's ability to export oil without transiting the Strait of Hormuz, which is already heavily contested.
