Royal Jordanian Air Force F-16s and Patriot air-defense batteries intercepted and destroyed a swarm of 11 Iranian Shahed-136 loitering munitions crossing northeastern Jordan on a southwesterly trajectory toward Israeli territory. The drones were engaged at altitude over the Azraq region and all were destroyed before reaching the Israeli border. No casualties or structural damage were reported. The Jordanian Armed Forces Joint Operations Command confirmed the interception in a brief communiqué, noting this was part of a large overnight Iranian drone barrage. Jordan has now intercepted drones or missiles on 17 separate occasions since February 28. The JOAF placed air-defense units on heightened readiness following confirmation that additional Iranian drone launches were detected from Khuzestan province.
