A missile struck a helipad inside the US Embassy compound in Baghdad's Green Zone on Saturday, March 14, according to Iraqi security officials. The attack destroyed part of the embassy's air defense system. It was the second time the US Embassy had come under attack since the start of the war. No casualties were reported. No group immediately claimed responsibility, but Iran-aligned militias are suspected. The US Embassy renewed its Level 4 security alert for Iraq, warning that Iran and Iran-aligned armed groups may continue to target US interests.
