Hezbollah launched approximately 200 rockets and 20 drones at northern Israel over several hours on Wednesday evening, March 11, in what the Israeli military described as the Lebanese group's "biggest barrage" since the war began on February 28. The attack was timed as a simultaneous assault with Iran, which fired ballistic missiles at the same time, in what the IRGC called an "integrated operation." Israeli air defenses intercepted most projectiles, with only two or three direct hits reported. Five civilians were lightly injured and hundreds of thousands of Israelis were sent to shelters across the north. The barrage targeted communities across the Galilee and Haifa Bay area. The IDF acknowledged a "warning failure" in alerting some communities, prompting calls for an internal investigation.
