The Israeli Air Force struck Iran's South Pars gas field in Asaluyeh, Bushehr Province, hitting processing facilities at phases 3, 4, 5 and 6, Iranian state television confirmed. The strike was carried out in coordination with the United States. Iran shut down the affected phases to contain spreading fires. South Pars is the world's largest known gas reserve and supplies around 70% of Iran's domestic natural gas, making this the most significant energy infrastructure strike of the war. In response, Iranian state TV threatened to attack oil and gas infrastructure in Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, specifically naming Saudi Arabia's Samref Refinery and Jubail Petrochemical Complex, UAE's Al Hasan Gas Field, and Qatari petrochemical plants. Brent oil surged 5% to $108.60/barrel following the strike.
