Houthi forces in Yemen launched six Aqua maritime drone units against a US Navy convoy operating near Hodeidah in the southern Red Sea. USS Gravely and USS Paul Hamilton intercepted and destroyed all six drones using a combination of surface-to-air missiles and close-in weapon systems (CIWS). CENTCOM and UKMTO issued a maritime alert for the southern Red Sea corridor. No casualties or vessel damage were reported. CENTCOM stated that since February 28 it had destroyed 38 Houthi maritime drones and 12 anti-ship ballistic missiles targeting US and coalition vessels in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden. The Houthi media wing announced the attack as part of the "fourth naval cycle of support for Iran" and vowed further operations against US shipping.
