US and Israeli airstrikes targeted the Isfahan industrial area on the afternoon of Day 16, killing at least 15 people. The strikes were part of the expanded IDF campaign that hit over 200 targets in western and central Iran within 24 hours. Isfahan, which hosts nuclear enrichment facilities and IRGC military infrastructure, has been repeatedly targeted since the war began. The latest strikes also caused damage to several historical and cultural sites in Isfahan, with buildings damaged including the Chehel Sotoun pavilion, the Rakib Khaneh Mansion, the Timurid Hall, the Ashraf Hall, and windows of the Ali Qapu Palace, according to Iranian cultural heritage officials. IRNA reported extensive damage to industrial and commercial facilities in the area. The strikes came as the IDF announced it was "expanding the scope of its strikes against the infrastructure of the Iranian regime in additional areas" across western and central Iran.
